Here are a few photos from my weeks of busy-ness in case you care:

Do you run in two pairs of shoes? Are they similar in style or to they differ greatly?
How do you make time to relax and rejuvenate? Do you ever feel like you just want to quit everything?
Any suggestions for a watch/running device that does not break the bank and is easy to use?
I'm so jelly of your pet party! I have a Garmin Forerunner 10, it ain't fancy but it was cheap (for a GPS watch) and does all I need it to do. Plus it's lime green <3 As far as shoes go, I have some minimal options I love, but anything over 3 miles I feel like I need more cushioning, especially 'cause I have kind of a weird gate where roll along the outer edge of my foot. My most recent purchase of cushiony ones I got the other day, while bulkier, are still super light weight and have a low offset, which keeps things pretty consistent between switching off shoes.
ReplyDeleteP.S. don't be so hard on yourself!! It's awesome that you've been squeezing your runs into your busy life! They shouldn't be a source of guilt for you or you'll end up resenting it, let it be your time to do something good for yourself and free your mind of everything else!
Kerri, what brand shoes did you buy? I find that in recent years I'm really only interested in Brooks, but don't know if I'm writing off other great brands by only buying Brooks. And I want a lime green Garmin watch! Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteI ended up with Pearl Izumis. I basically made a feature wishlist and let the guys at Fleet Feet have their way with me (even without a wish list they should be able to watch you and listen to your goals to narrow it down). I didn't tell them any brand preferences, but the first shoe I tried was a Saucony I already knew they would have me try based on my requests. It was good, and I tried maybe 5 more different models/brands, and some were so neck and neck that I ran the treadmill with one on each foot to narrow it down haha. After bringing home my PI's I looked em up online and they seem legit as far as durability and stuff I wouldn't have been able to tell by trying em on. Kyle sticks with Brooks too though, they're not bad! I also know lots of people who swear by Mizunos, but they have too much offset for me personally.
